THE YOUNG Scottish guitarist, Sean Shibe, a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist, performed with the BBC Singers in their Music from Spain and Latin America concert, broadcast Live on Radio 3 from St Paul’s Church, Knightsbridge, London on Thursday 15 January 2015.

The programme included Celebratio amoris et gaudii by Almeida PradoBachianas Brasileiras No. 5 by Heitor Villa-Lobos, arranged by Bob Chilcott and Romancero gitano by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, all performed by Sean Shibe with the BBC Singers, conducted by Paul Brough, and Canciones amatorias by Leo Brouwer performed by BBC Singers, conducted by Paul Brough, as well as works for solo guitar, two movements from Sonata for guitar by Antonio JoséEtudes 1, 8 and 11 by Heitor Villa-Lobos,

At the end of 2014 Sean Shibe gave two concerto performances which were broadcast on BBC Radio 3: on Friday 21 November 2014, he played the Villa-Lobos concerto with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Michael Seal at the BBC Maida Vale Studio in London; and on Tuesday 16 December 2014, performed the Concerto for Guitar, Op. 67 by Malcolm Arnold with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, conducted by Pablo Gonzalez at Hoddinott Hall, in Cardiff.
