JASON VIEAUX’s recording Play has won the ‘Best Classical Instrumental Solo’ prize at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, held on 8 February 2015 at Staples Center, Los Angeles.
The nominees in the category of ‘Best Classical Instrumental Solo’ were announced on 5 December 2014: Play Jason Vieaux (Azica Records); All The Things You Are Leon Fleisher (Bridge Records); The Carnegie Recital Daniil Trifonov (Deutsche Grammophon); Dutilleux: Tout un monde lointain… Xavier Phillips (cello) with Seattle Symphony conducted by Ludovic Morlot (Seattle Symphony); and Toccatas – Modern American Music for Harpsichord Jory Vinikour (Dorian Sono Luminus)

Jason Vieaux’s latest recording, Together, which is being released this month is in duo with the harpist Yolanda Kondonassis. Together, features original works for harp and guitar including Alan Hovhaness’ Spirit of Trees, Xavier Montsalvatge’s Fantasia, Máximo Diego Pujol’s Suite Magica, and première recordings of works commissioned by the duo: Knock on Wood (2012) by Keith Fitch and Hypnotized (2013) by Gary Schocker (Azica Records).
