VICENTE AMIGO began his Tierra tour with a brilliant sold out performance at Sadler’s Well, London, part of the Flamenco Festival London – it was an unforgettable performance: his musical ideas, his incredibly beautiful sound, his virtuosic technique and the exciting interaction between the performers was flamenco at its very best.  His extensive US tour beginning this month includes a Carnegie Hall performance and four nights at the SFJazz Center in San Francisco.

Vicente Amigo’s recording Tierra,  which was released in February 2013, was recorded with musicians from Dire Straits and the Scottish band called Capercaillie at Mark Knopfler’s British Grove Studios in London. On the recording he performs with GUY FLETCHER (organ, piano), DANNY CUMMINGS (percussion, drums), MIKE McGOLDRICK (whistles, uillean pipes), JOHN McCUSKER (fiddle), DONALD SHAW (accordion), EWEN VERNAL (double bass), RAFAEL DE UTRERA (flamenco singer), AÑIL FERNÁNDEZ (second guitar), and PAQUITO GONZÁLEZ (percussion and cajón) and EWEN VERNAL (double bass). All the pieces were composed by Vicente Amigo.

The musicians performing with VICENTE AMIGO on his US tour are RAFAEL DE UTRERA (flamenco singer), AÑIL FERNÁNDEZ (second guitar), PAQUITO GONZÁLEZ (percussion and cajón), EWEN VERNAL (double bass), and guest flamenco dancer, ANTONIO MOLINA ‘EL CHORO’.
